Making a change

Start with small, manageable goals.

If you want to change what or how you eat, there are three main things that you can do:

get Motivated

take Action

use (or avoid) Prompts that make you eat in a particular way

This approach is called MAP, and it’s used by the NHS.

Making a change

  • Find out about the benefits of changing what you eat or drink
  • Set a clear goal, make a plan and think about what could make it difficult to stick to the plan
  • Leave yourself reminders about the changes you want to make

You might have to do something new 20 or 30 times before it feels 'normal'.
